ASSISTANCE TO THE POOR SUBSIDY
(ATTP)
DOMESTIC RESIDENCE
The benefits of receiving an ATTP subsidy are as follows:
A full credit for property rates.
- A credit to the
maximum of 8 kilolitres of water per meter reading cycle
- A credit for the
monthly charge for the sewerage up to 11 kilolitres
- A full credit for the monthly charge in respect of the refuse collection.
- 75 kWh units of free electricity monthly with
the first purchase
Qualifying Criteria: The total income of all occupants living on the property may not exceed
R3 560 per month
The following
child grants received by a household are not included in the above:
- Foster Child Grant
- Care Dependency Grant
- Child Support Grant
How to apply: The account holder or an authorized
person, must apply in person at any of the NMBM Customer Care offices. The
relevant application form must be completed and copies of the necessary
supporting documentation must be produced:
· ID of all house occupants
· Proof of income (payslip or
affidavit) of all household occupants – Including Flatlets.
· Copy of the Rental Agreement.

PUBLIC BENEFIT ORGANISATIONS - NOT FOR GAIN
INSTITUTIONS
How to apply: The authorized person, must apply in
person at any of the NMBM Customer Care offices. The relevant application form
must be completed and copies of the necessary supporting documentation must be
produced:
· ID of Registered Secretary or Authorised
Signatories.
· Written proof from SARS, indicating
that the NGO/NPO is registered and exempt from paying taxes.
· Financial Statements
Please Note: The property where the assistance is sought, needs to be
solely used as an NGO. The property also needs to be registered with the RATES
department as such.

any of the NMBM Customer Care offices. The relevant application form must be
completed and copies of the necessary supporting documentation must be
produced:
· ID of all household occupants
· Proof of income (payslip or
affidavit) of all household occupants- Including Flatlets
· Copy of the Rental Agreement

BODY CORPORATE’S/ OLD AGE HOMES
The benefits of receiving an ATTP subsidy are as follows:
- A credit to the
maximum of 8 kilolitres of water per meter reading cycle credited
to the Body Corporate Account.
- A credit for the
monthly charge for the sewerage up to 11 kilolitres to the Body Corporate
Account.
- 75 kWh units of free electricity monthly with
the first purchase, credited to the Body Corporate Account in the event of
the owner not having a Private Municipal Account.
Qualifying Criteria: The total income of all occupants
living on the property may not exceed R3 560 per month
The following
child grants received by a household are not included in the above:
- Foster Child Grant
- Care Dependency Grant
- Child Support Grant
How to apply: The managing Agent or an authorized
person, must apply in person at any of the NMBM Customer Care offices. The
relevant application form must be completed and copies of the necessary
supporting documentation must be produced:
· ID of the Qualifying occupants
· Proof of income (payslip or
affidavit) for the occupants
· Percentage Quota” document.
